Carriers AT&T to Offer Only 3G Smartphones Soon

AT&T has made a strategic announcement that they will only be selling 3G smartphones in the near future. This statement from Apple's iPhone partner indicates that the popular smartphone will soon be available in a 3G version. The CEO of AT&T Wireless has said that all the smartphones available from that company will support 3G within the near future.

During a press event at the CTIA trade show, in response to a press question about 3G Blackberries, AT&T Wireless CEO Ralph de la Vega noted that the company was planning to expand, revise, and possibly trim their smartphone lineup in order to emphasize their high-speed internet service: "I'm talking about months for all the integrated devices to be 3G, and I mean months.
